Giacomo Fiore

Please join us Sunday afternoon June 13th 2010 for another intimate house concert featuring a superb Bay Area classical and fingerstyle guitarist Giacomo Fiore.

Guitarist Giacomo Fiore was born in Genova, Italy, in 1983. Eight years later, he began strumming along to Beatles songs, moved on to fronting a glam-rock band while in high school and eventually studied solo acoustic guitar in Genova with Armando Corsi. At the age of 19, Giacomo crossed the big pond to pursue a musical education at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he majored in Classical Guitar Performance with Muriel Anderson and Mario DaSilva.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude in December 2006, he chose to further his studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, joining one of the world's most  dynamic and competitive guitar departments under the tutelage of David Tanenbaum; having served as a Graduate Assistant in his second year, Giacomo earned his MM in Performance in May of 2009. Through the years, the young Italian guitarist has performed across the United States, Europe, and Canada, offering an eclectic and refreshing mixture of genres to the most disparate audiences - notable performances include the Acoustic Guitar Festival in Sarzana and the 6th International Guitar Festival in Cervo, Italy, a theatrical run of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night Dream",  featured appearances in Belmont University's Other Showcase, President's Concert, and Christmas at Belmont, and Terry Riley's "Y Bolanzero" for the SFCM 2009 Blueprint season.
